We want to help you get creative this Mother’s Day! We know it can be hard to think outside the box when it comes to showering your Mom with love – but it shouldn’t have to break the bank or be repetitive when really it’s the thought that counts.

So, take a look at what we have in mind for moms this Mother’s Day, based on the traditional gesture, a little bit of innovation and of course, something for the new mom! Mother’s Day Gift Ideas abound, below:

Breakfast in Bed

That’s right – just because this small act of kindness is often overplayed doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it! Whether you live with your mom or not, you can surprise her at the crack of dawn with a beautifully styled tray including a few of her favorite things. Not sure what to include alongside those heart shaped pancakes? You can never go wrong with a custom made coffee mug, a pretty cell phone case or a subscription to one of her favorite magazines. Or, if she has an iPad, download the subscription there as a surprise! She will think of you every time she wakes up for a morning read.

Get Creative

So you’re finding it difficult to get your creative juices flowing and you’re unsure of where to begin. First, we suggest playing on your Mom’s hobbies and/or interests. Then, come up with something that will compliment this activity. For instance, if you know your Mom hosts a number of dinner parties, why not treat her to some wine glass accessories or a new recipe book? Or, if you can identify at least 3 of her favorite shops, why not create your very own coupon book? You can buy 5, 10, or 15 dollar gift cards at a few of these places (i.e. the nail spa or Starbucks) and get crafty at the same time! Hello, DIY!

The New Mom

Framed pictures, personalized jewelry and a whole lot of nursery art – can you say a new mom’s haven? Why not add to her accumulation with an artsy project that won’t break the bank and will make for an adorable collection piece. We just love what Honest to Nod has done with these tea towels as a Mother’s Day gift. Stamped with a baby’s foot, they will immediately add life (and color) to her kitchen and will make her smile every time she sees that tiny print. How cute!

The world is your oyster when it comes to gift ideas for Mother’s Day. Yet, no matter how you decide to spend your time or money, what matters most is that your mom feels appreciated, acknowledged and loved.

From the Elletourage team to you and yours, Happy Mother’s Day!
