If you live in Vancouver like we do, you know we were lucky enough to have an extended summer, but now we are now deep into fall and it is time to pull out our coats, scarves, and cozy up! On the fashion runways we saw a slew of fresh trends that we’re excited to rock, while some were a little more avant garde like XXL large coats, ostrich feathers, and LOTS of colourful fur. We have summarized some of the most wearable trends from fashion week that your closet may that will update your wardrobe for the season!

Leopard

At Elletourage, we like to think of leopard as a neutral and something you can never have too much of! This is a trend we see every season and it is something that can take your outfit to the next level.  Why not add some leopard print pumps or clutch for an extra bit of spice? Or, if you are feeling really adventurous, a leopard print coat. We can’t get enough of it.

Pastel

Loved all that pastel that we saw on the spring runways? Well good news for you is that it is a major fall trend! Those baby pinks and mint greens are beautiful for fall coats and will go fabulously with the light grays that we are also seeing everywhere.

Plaid

Another classic pattern that we see time and time again is plaid, however, this season plaid was more modern and abundant, rather than just on one item in your outfit. Try a top and pant set or even mix and match your tartan if you’re feeling especially bold!

Oversized

While we may not want everything we are wearing oversized, it’s nice to have a few pieces that we can bundle up in when it gets really cold. Try a big knit sweater or cocoon coat – not only are they on trend but they are so cozy and comfortable.

60’s

It looks like the 60’s are swinging back our way because we saw mini skirts, knee high boots, and mod prints all over the runways. Throwing on a pair of Mary Jane’s or an A-line skirt will certainly make you look groovy, baby!

Keep a look out for these items while perfecting your Fall wardrobe and turn the sidewalk into your own catwalk!
